Bandar Seni Raja Ali Haji or Bandar Serai

Hay hay, today I wanna share one article about one place in Pekanbaru. Pekanbaru people must know  about this place hahaha :D
Actually, I made this article for presentation in my speaking class about Historical Place. I arranged the important point of the place and make them become like that.

 History of the Place

In the begining, Bandar Seni Raja Ali Haji or Bandar Serai was built for venue the seventeenth of National MTQ on 1994. It happened during the reign of President Soeharto. At that time, it was became the grandest National MTQ event ever held in Indonesia. Because For the first time the opening ceremony was enlivened with a laser beam that made tens of thousands of people in awe. Even it opened directly by President Soeharto. That is why Pekanbaru’s people, more often called this built as MTQ.

At first time, in Bandar Seni Raja Ali Haji there are stage audience, four large wards, and eight custom house from all district in Riau. But now, only remain fews building and custome house from Kampar, Indragiri hilir and Indragiri hulu in there.

Custom house from kampar is abandoned, not maintaned and lots of paint peeling off. Custom house from Indragiri Hulu either. It is not maintaned and lots of paint peeling off. The only custom house that seems good is custom house from indragiri hilir. Maybe that building have a reconstruction recently.

History of Idrus Tintin

After some years, stage audience and several custom house destroyed, and built a new building instead. The new building’s name is Idrus Tintin. Idrus Tintin is a building which is used to display artistic performances. Art building plan has been created since 2002, under the administration of Saleh Djasit who was Governor of Riau at that time. Then in 2004 the building was built and completed in 2007. Then on August 11, 2007 the building was inaugurated by Mr. SBY.

About Idrus Tintin

Name of Idrus Tintin come from name a famous artist from Riau, that is Idrus Tintin. He was born in Rengat, Indragiri Hulu on November 11, 1932. He is known as the father of modern Riau theater. That is why, his name used for this building.
